An Alabama police officer is out of two jobs following a viral traffic stop video where he exhibited “unprofessional” and “aggressive” behavior.

In videos posted on Facebook by Trista Marie Chaviers, it shows her and her husband, Jackson Chaviers, talking to an officer in Crossville as he starts telling the couple to both “shut up” repeatedly.

Jackson was subsequently handcuffed by another cop after standing up for his wife after the initial officer told Trista to ”shut up.”

“From the very second he got out of the car he was on a massive power trip,” Trista said. “He was being completely hateful, ugly and aggressive for no reason at all.”

Richards said Harrelson was a full-time officer with Crossville but was on duty at the time of traffic stop as a part-time officer for the Geraldine Police Department.

“The unprofessional and unacceptable behavior like this will not be tolerated in the Crossville Police Dept.,” Richards said. “So as of Oct. 26, 2026 Mr. Harrelson is no longer an employee of Town of Crossville and as Mayor I apologize to all involved.”

The Town of Geraldine put out a statement Tuesday saying “the conduct displayed in this incident does not reflect the standards or expectations” of the town or the department and that Harrelson was fired.

Trista said that the couple was issued tickets during the traffic stop but Crossville was dismissing them as they look into retaining a civil rights lawyer.
