@MiTleiD Zelensky turned his inner circle into scapegoats when they, one by one, fell to corruption and fled the country when the law came after them. i mean, what kind of regime tries to eliminate THREE anti corruption institutions? Zelensky and his friends, of course. My neighborhood is filled with Ukrainians who are sick of that corrupt puppet and want to return home.

@Populus It's true that there is a lot of corruption in Ukraine, and very powerful people are mixed up in it. However, you also have to look at where Ukraine is coming from on this issue, and the fact that very powerful individuals are actually being convicted of corruption now. Just recently, Ukraine's Prosecutor General fled the country because he was facing imminent charges of corruption and money laundering. So, things are changing.

But the reason Zelenskyy won't agree to a deal that means a Ukrainian capitulation isn't corruption or holding onto power, it's because there is no military reality that would justify it, and because the Ukrainian people, especially the military, simply wouldn't go along with it.

And as for Trump, everyone should see right through his midterm strategy of blaming Ukraine for high gas prices to cover up his own responsibility.

Then there's the fact that Trump is constantly playing right into the hands of those disgusting Russians, completely ignoring the majority in Congress and the American public. It is highly likely that massive corruption and the personal business dealings of his family and inner circle, especially people like Kushner and Witkoff, are driving this whole betrayal behind the scenes.

BTW, Zelenskyy is actually completely on board with agreeing to a two-month ceasefire and holding elections. The Russians, however, are the ones refusing, because they can't be sure their own troops would be willing to head back to the front lines and march to their deaths afterward. Because for the Russian people, this is the stupidest and most senseless war in their history, started solely because a bored, obscenely wealthy dictator wanted to secure his place in history.

Without Trump in office, Putin would have had to make concessions to Ukraine a long time ago. But since this war is going to last a while, we'll see how things turn out once a US president with morals, decency, and actual brains is back in office.
