The second she advanced, with weapon leading the advance , from her driveway to the public sidewalk , her life was forfeit. At that point the police had to act.

Why all the comments against the cops?

They put their lives on the line at every DV call, and some pay with their lives.

There is no reason a cop should have to worry about their own life when someone is threatening bodily harm to them or to their life.

It's easy to live with cops coming over to your house.

1st, Bad guys usually run away, thereby you are safer.
2nd, Bad guys don't come at you when you have cops around you.
3rd. Do what they ask. I've never heard a cop say with other cops around, "Come at me with the knife and try to kill me", so they can shoot you.
4th, DON'T threaten a cops life by saying you are going to kill them.

Murder... I'm Retired Law Enforcement. I have Capture many, many bad guys. This is an unstable person and there are many ways to approach this. Tho I do not no the circumstances behind this, I know that the Training for this is Quite simple Meet force with Force and only Escalate it when the force is needed. Looks like they Murdered a Weak ass woman that Could not beat her way out of a Wet paper bag. All it takes is a Taser, PR-24 or mace to control that.

Intelligence is not given to everyone. A typical cop is incapable of resolving a situation that is out of the ordinary. It's best to stay away from cops.

I hope they all go to prison, there was no need to kill her, she was still on her property and THEY were certainly in no danger of losing their lives, she was using the knife as a pointing tool at the end.

don't underestimate how fast someone with a knife could be in a threatening postiion for you if he's only a few steps away. anyway, taser would have been my first choice to go with that much room to move around and backup already at the scene.
