Hahahahaha!

Get a close up of the second hand.

I have 2 Rolexes.

Friend brought them back as a gift for me.

Cost $25 a piece!

Looks real, except for the gold and the movement of the second hand.

@Cripple Lmao! That was my guess! It's a knockoff!

I'm not judging.

Rolex “Hulk” Submariner used to cost $9,000 USD NEW from the dealer before 2020 Covid. Now they are like $25,000 in the secondhand market. LOL. I've missed my opportunity with Rolex Daytona “Panda” before 2020 Covid. :angry:

@FacelessMen I got a Oyster Datejust in 2019 for 7k new, and they're now selling 15k used. It's also why I don't understand buying an expensive fake since, yeah they can look legit, but a legit one is an investment rather a money hole. Basically, spend $500 for a watch that gains no value or spend thousands and get thousands back years later.

@lolwhatusay Yeah but I wouldn't really count on luxury watches as an investments unless it is a rare piece. The massive increase in Rolex prices from pre-COVID 2020 to recent market levels wasn't normal.  IMO, two major factors drove up those prices. First, there was an enormous wealth effect from the stock market and the crypto boom after the March 2020 crash. Both markets exploded after bottoming around mid-March 2020.  For example, I bought into the 3x leveraged Nasdaq ETF (TQQQ). It bottomed around $4.50 per share (about $9 before the split) and climbed to roughly $45 per share (about $90 before the split) within a year and a half. That's a gain of 1,000%.  Crypto saw similar moves. Bitcoin rose from around $4,000 in March 2020 to about $65,000 a year and a half later, while Ethereum went from roughly $120 to around $4,500 during the same period.  When people make that kind of money, they tend to spend on luxury goods. Rolex watches, high-end cars, and other luxury items from the surge in wealth.  LOL!  The second factor was inflation. In 2022, we experienced the highest inflation rates since the 1970s, which pushed prices higher across many asset classes and consumer goods. That inflationary environment also contributed to the sharp rise in luxury watch prices.  IMO, the extraordinary appreciation in Rolex prices was largely the result of easy money and inflation. LOL.

No problem though when illegals are driving new cars after being here for a month right?

He didn't buy it with the salary he's making there. And, so what if he has a Rolex. He probably retired as a CEO of a startup that made $millions and decided it would be fun to go and catch illegal invaders. Man, I was in my late twenties or thirties, I'd be applying for a job with ICE!

@MisterProgneto 200 grand a year salary.

@MisterProgneto Same! It actually looks fucking fun!

And how do we even know it's the real deal and not a chep knock off?

4 +1 JobyFluorine 1 month ago

@Swedishtroll69 It could be used. He might be a horologist. It might have been a gift or inheritance. On thing is for sure, there is no way that I'd be wearing that to work. I'd be wearing a Casio F-91W, Timex Ironman, or if I'm feeling fancy, a Casio G-Shock GWM-5610.

2 +1 lolwhatusay 1 month ago

@JobyFluorine good taste. Yeah wearing a rolex when your job requires you to be physical is quite stupid haha..

1 +1 JobyFluorine 1 month ago

@lolwhatusay Thanks. I prefer Timex, Casio, Citizen and Seiko, but any nice looking watch that catches my eye and is around $300 or less is for me.

If I had $17k for a Rolex I'd be more interested in a Breitling, Tag or Omega, but for that price I could remodel my kitchen!

@lolwhatusay

But probably just for the fun of it, libtard triggering.

Got mine off Alibaba for the price of a pizza

Better have insurance for that. Dumb to wear it to work.

16 +1 GulliblestartswithN 1 month ago

@tommix1 yes ill guarantee he is smarter than people who dont have wealth. Its called a jewelry floater.

Best part? NO DEDUCTIBLE if its damaged or lost while working.

So no. Its a tactic to keep their wealth, unlike poor people who spend it on rims and hennessey.

@tommix1 dumb comment

@Galaga Why must I pay the price for you being born?
