I entered a competition on a radio station here 3 years ago. I missed the phone call that would've guaranteed me 22,000 pounds. By TWO minutes, Because? I worked late by two minutes.... lets say i was a little bit disappointed but as my missus said "you can't miss something you never had in the first place...
I was fine after that

@Freakazoidalmaniac Sounds like me. I didn't even have clean clothes for school growing up, so when I was a young man, I'd work two jobs, because that wasn't going to happen to me again. I'd work from 7 am to 1am the next day, six days a week. I don't do that anymore, but I have other compulsive behaviors to keep me busy. Like my drinking. Fun times.

I'm still funny about how I clean my clothes, hoe clean I keep my house, and, like you, would obsess about my lawn.

@JobyFluorine yeah man as you get older you leave the bad addictions behind, (you have to or it'll kill you ) then you get good ones. Mowing the lawn hurts nobody. I was on half a bottle of whisky a night in my 30s. My uncle took me aside one time and told me how four of his close friends had died from overdoing dark spirits. Advised to go onto vodka. So I did. Didn't like that as much so it dropped away. Thanks unc. r.i.p. I just have A beer or two a night
