In an interview with Piers Morgan, economist and professor Jeffrey Sachs called Trump "mentally unstable" and dangerous to the global order. Sachs emphasized that Trump's behavior shows features of the so-called dark triad - a combination of narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. Combined with malignant narcissism, these traits manifest in extreme paranoia, a complete lack of empathy, and a sadistic pleasure in humiliating opponents.

"The man is mentally deranged. Attacking the Pope while posting a picture of himself as Jesus... that's not politics, that's a diagnosis. We have a man at the head of the world's most powerful army who is out of touch with social norms and reality itself," Sachs said on the Piers Morgan show. According to both Sachs and Gartner, Trump represents a "cathedral risk" - a threat that could lead to a total collapse of the system.
