Stanley Police responded to a shooting on East Dallas Rd. This incident involved a domestic-related dispute between two family members that escalated into violence.
The suspect, Christopher Monique McDowell (DOB 5/18/1994) of Stanley, fired multiple shots at the victim, who is his uncle. The victim was struck and transported to the hospital for medical treatment. He is expected to survive.
Officers arrived within seconds, immediately provided medical aid, and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
This was an isolated incident stemming from a family dispute. There is no threat to the greater community. The suspect has been apprehended and remains in custody.
We are releasing the video in the interest of public safety and to provide accurate information concerning the circumstances involving the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.”
