O’Fallon, IL - The Illinois State Police has released bodycam and dashcam footage of an O’Fallon police officer shooting and killing a knife-wielding man.
The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, in the 600 block of West Madison Street. O’Fallon police were responding to a disturbance call for a man armed with a knife.
When officers pulled up, they saw two people outside the home. They were covered with blood and running away from a man armed with a knife, later identified as Matthew Blanke.
An officer exited his police vehicle, pulled out his service weapon, and twice yelled at Blanke to drop his knife.
Blanke, who was now walking toward the officer, did not drop the knife.
The officer fired seven shots at Blanke in approximately two seconds. Blanke collapsed onto the front lawn.
Additional officers arrived to help administer first aid to Blanke, but he was ultimately pronounced dead. Blanke was 53.
The two victims were taken to the hospital and treated for cuts and stab wounds. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
The officer who shot Blanke was not injured.
On Nov. 25, 2025, the state’s attorney’s office declined to file charges against the officer involved.

Fucking sad how badly trained police officers are nowadays. The same faggot shit happened in my hometown several years ago when a father of two went mental one morning with a knife in his hand walking outside his property, his wife called police to stop him BEFORE he stabbed someone and obviously because she knew something must have happened to his brain for him to wake up and start doing this, yet police showed up and shot him in the forehead killing him on the spot. Video footage showed the officer had plenty of time to aim elsewhere besides his forehead to stop him from moving, like both knee caps for one thing. His wife & kids got to see their father killed right in front of them.

How can they say they're well trained when myself as a bouncer I've stopped men with knifes using my bare hands and fucking common sense.

I understand that it is part of their training, but for crying out loud, how many times do stupid American police officers shoot someone dead, and still tell them "DON'T MOVE", and then put the lifeless body in handcuffs.
