Texas students ATTACK a teacher during a ‘‘peaceful ICE protest/walkout’

A student-led walkout protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement escalated into a physical confrontation Monday afternoon in Buda, Texas, according to local police.

The protest involved students from Moe and Gene Johnson High School and took place near RM 967. Buda police said officers were called just before 3 p.m. to the intersection of RM 967 and FM 1626 after reports of a fight during the demonstration.

According to authorities, an argument broke out between a juvenile standing on the sidewalk and an adult man seated in a vehicle. The verbal exchange quickly escalated into a fight involving multiple people.

Video of the incident, which circulated on social media, shows a chaotic scene, though it remains unclear who initiated the confrontation.

Hays Consolidated Independent School District confirmed it was aware of the video but stated the incident occurred off campus and is being handled by law enforcement rather than the school district.

Police said both individuals involved in the initial argument have been identified. No arrests had been made as of Monday night, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The walkout was part of a larger coordinated protest across the district. School officials said roughly 500 students from five campuses participated, including Hays High School, Live Oak Academy High School, Johnson High School, Lehman High School, and Barton Middle School.
