EXCLUSIVE — Tucker claims "some people hate Russia" because it is a "majority white Christian country."
This is absurd. Many countries have a higher white Christian majority, incl Ukraine. As does Poland, Croatia, etc.
Few Russians even go to church, maybe 10-15% do so at least once per month.
Yet, in his 1819 News interview last week — the one where he famously called @KevinRobertsTX of @Heritage a "weak" man — Tucker Carlson said Russia "is probably going to be the only majority white Christian country in the world soon, and they hate it. That is why they hate it." ("They" was undefined, but apparently referring to elite opinion.)
At most, 65-75% of Russians are both white and identify as Christians, but most attend church infrequently or not at all, with many nothing more than culturally Christian.
In many ways, Putin is anti-Christian. He's only good for those Christians who wish to worship as adherents of the Russian Orthodox Church (or one of the other orthodoxies officially sanctioned by the ROC).
The truth is that Putin has damaged Christianity. Catholics, for example, face rampant discrimination, with Russian parishes left to whither and stagnate. Many Protestant denominations face similar hurdles.
Never mind that the "hate" directed at Russia is focused on Putin, specifically his decision to launch a war of aggression into a neighboring country.
Apparently, none of this matters to the new, 56-year-old iteration of Tucker Carlson, not least the fact that there are many other countries that are "whiter" and have more practicing Christians than Putin's Russia.
