Akira Thompson attempted to instigate a fight with 16-year-old Dannady Greene, who refused. Investigators state that Tayon Hassell then exited the vehicle, racked a handgun, and threatened Greene, demanding she fight Thompson or he would shoot her.

When Greene tried to flee, multiple rounds were fired, striking her in the head. She succumbed to her injuries days later
