I though the way the Elephant cracked the concrete and destroyed the walls so easily - I though AI. Then I remembered it was India.

Of course, the other street shitters didn't know at the time that the man had a broken back, but you see it time and time again: people helping accident victims are moving them in such a way that the injured are bound to suffer serious long-term consequences or even die. But the mere fact that it took them 15 hours to sedate the elephant shows that they are completely unprepared and have no plan whatsoever for dealing with these grey monsters. As long as they’re well-behaved and carrying logs or taking tourists for a ride, everything’s fine, but if one of them goes berserk, then all hell breaks loose. I went to Thailand once and went for an elephant ride with my girlfriend; the first time was really lovely and relaxing, but then my girlfriend absolutely insisted on going again. Five minutes in, the beast let out a trumpet and charged straight into the jungle; branches were whipping past our heads, and luckily we didn’t fall off because the mahout managed to calm the creature down. I say ‘calm it down’, but in reality he just started beating the beast senseless. That was the end of elephant riding for me, and I’m no longer with that woman anyway – though for other reasons – and with my current girlfriend we won’t be doing that sort of tourist nonsense anyway.

@jfk66 You are right "people helping accident victims are moving them in such a way that the injured are bound to suffer serious long-term consequences or even die" - though I don't think Dumbo wouldn't go for round 2 and even stomp flat that bastard. So it's possible they've got that fucker out of it's way, fast as they could. May be a wheelchair recipient, but still alive - anyway he won't fuck with Dumbo again.

And also, yes, using elephants that much, one would think the place would be full of wardens, rangers with tranq guns. Nah they would probably shoot themselves in the legs or someone in the crowd, or committing murders/suicides. Tranq guns could be into the top 5 causes of death in India, besides diarrhea, trains, shallow pools/waters and electricity.
