Shooting in the Bronx hospitalizes 2, including 1-year-old girl

The gunfire erupted in front of 726 Courtlandt Ave. in Melrose around 4 p.m. and struck a 32-year-old man in the ankle, according to the NYPD.

A bullet fragment also struck a parked 2023 Honda Civic, carrying a teenage girl and baby, and shattered the glass of its window.

While the 16-year-old girl was unharmed, the glass fragments hit the 1-year-old girl, causing minor injuries.

EMS took both victims to Lincoln Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Neither victim is believed to have been the gunman’s intended target.

Dramatic surveillance video shows the moments before the shooting, as a shadowy figure in all black is seen walking up the block with his hand in his pocket, just in front of the Honda.

The "goon" then pulls out a gun and appears to be shooting at someone across the street, off-camera.

It’s unclear if the shooter in the video shattered the Honda’s glass, but he’s seen fleeing soon after.

The video’s final moments show a man leaving a nearby building to check on the passengers of the Honda Civic, then rushing them inside.
