A woman who admitted to drugging and robbing four men, killing three of them, in New York City was sentenced to 27 years to life in prison on Tuesday.

Tabitha Bundrick pleaded guilty in September to giving the men fentanyl-laced drugs and stealing their belongings while they were unconscious.

She was sentenced to 25 years to life for each of the three murders, which will run concurrently. She was also sentenced to two years in prison and three years of post-release supervision for the assault charge, which will run consecutively to the murder sentences.

The crimes happened over the course of nearly a year between April 2023 and February 2024. Prosecutors said Bundrick would give the men the drugs, sometimes claiming it was cocaine.

She would take their phones, money, watches, clothing, and other items.

Mario Paullan, 42, Miguel Navez, 39, and Abrihan Fernandez Rodriguez, 34, died.

When police arrested Bundrick in March 2024, four pairs of the victims' sneakers were found inside her apartment.

"The defendant knowingly killed three people by providing them fentanyl-laced drugs," Manhattan District Attorney Bragg previously said. "As they laid unconscious, she robbed her victims and left them to die. In several instances, the victims' bodies were found by their friends or family members. The defendant showed a shocking indifference to the lives of her victims and is now facing significant consequences for her conduct."

Bundrick, who remained handcuffed behind her back, apologized in a low voice saying, in part, "This wasn't supposed to be this way. I was suffering from a drug addiction that has caused me to make bad choices and bad decisions just to get high."

When that sentence was issued, Paullan's family told CBS News New York they didn't believe it was enough.

Fernandez Rodriguez's mother, Brijida Rodriguez, tearfully showed her son's class ring. She then gestured to Bundrick, showing her the jewelry she says Bundrick couldn't pry off his dead finger.

"She doesn't have a heart," Rodriguez said in Spanish.

Felipe Navez said it is "very hard" to be without his brother, adding, "He brought the happiness to our celebrations. Very hard worker."

Bundrick is already serving 13 years on federal charges connected to this case, including three counts of second-degree murder and one count of assault.

Her state sentence will run concurrent to the federal sentence.
