Man armed with large knife fatally shot by deputy in Florida

HUDSON, Fla. — A man died Friday after he was shot by a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
The shooting happened at a shopping center in the 12100 block of Little Road in Hudson.

PCSO said the man, identified as 49-year-old Brandon Whitworth, was trespassing at the store, and threatening and yelling at shoppers.
Deputies confronted him at the north end of the shopping center, and he brandished a 7-inch butcher knife, according to the sheriff’s office. PCSO said a deputy, fearing for bystanders’ safety, was “forced to fire” after Whitworth refused six commands to drop the knife.

Whitworth died from his injuries at the hospital. PCSO said he had 18 arrests in the county, with 11 felony convictions.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and State Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.

I know there will be some sort of bleeding heart liberal condemning the actions of the officer in this clip. Welding a 7 -inch knife without dropping it upon command is a threat to all in the area. Officers have died in the same situation whom didn't fire upon a knife weilding suspect.
