The core argument is that hiring, admissions, and promotions should be based strictly on individual qualifications, skills, and character, rather than race or gender. In contrast, pro-DEI is discriminatory because they actively make decisions based on race.

@ManyFacedGod Well, it would be nice if hiring, admissions, and promotions were based strictly on qualifications, then DEI would be pointless. But studies prove that Black applicants get fewer callbacks with the exact same resume. Just having a Black-sounding name is enough. Flipping the narrative and calling DEI racist is just embarrassing right-wing propaganda that's completely detached from reality.

@MiTleiD Really? How are IQ scores calculated? While race is not a genetic category for intelligence, how people are brought up and their access to quality education tend to dictate their IQ scores. Unfortunately, many blacks live in poverty areas with a lower quality of education.

@ManyFacedGod IQ is genetic. The founder of DNA got chased out of the scientific community for admitting as such. The reason we had to lower the barrier for retardation from 85 to 75 in the 70s was that 50% of blacks had an IQ that classified them as retarded

@ManyFacedGod Well, there we have it. Race is not only non-existent as a genetic category regarding intelligence, race isn't a genetic category in humans at all. Technically, there is no such thing as race in humans. Race is more of a social reality based on unfair historical categorization. And how do we dissolve this? By making sure these social groups are actually included. For instance, through things like DEI.

And race or gender BASED on biology (physical traits or ancestry). Social reality is something you leftist made up. Social construct or reality is something that exists ONLY because people AGREE it exists. It is NOT because it is a physical law of science. Reread your statement. If race is just a social construct or reality and not actual biology, then DEI laws shouldn't exist because we shouldn't be building laws around artificial categories. Damn! You people are dense!

@ManyFacedGod When groups are systematically treated unfairly and shut out just because of their skin color or gender, a law that works against that is NOT discriminatory. It's really not that hard to understand.

If a law like that existed even though everyone was being treated fairly and justly, then yes, it would be discriminatory. But that's just not the reality we're dealing with, and laws have to address actual, real-world problems.

And when people are put into a group based on their skin color, and that group is given certain characteristics like being stupid, lazy, or destructive, even though science and biology clearly show that this group is no different from anyone else, that's not a "made-up" social reality. It's an existing social reality with real-world consequences for those people.
