STRONGSVILLE, Ohio - A 60-year-old woman will be facing charges following a police pursuit Tuesday in a stolen vehicle in Strongsville.

According to the Strongsville Police Department, officers located a reported stolen vehicle on Pearl Road in the area of Whitney Road at 11:15 a.m.
Officers were advised the stolen vehicle was involved in a pursuit earlier Tuesday morning with the North Olmsted Police Department.

The stolen vehicle had pulled into the Kings Inn, where a Strongsville officer then attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle then struck a Strongsville police cruiser, police said, fleeing the scene northbound on Pearl Road.

A Strongsville officer and a trooper from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) began to pursue, when the vehicle ran a red light and struck an uninvolved vehicle.

The crash caused the stolen vehicle to strike a utility pole and roll over.

Police said the sole occupant, a 60-year-old woman, had to be transported to Southwest General Hospital.

The woman had non-life threatening injuries, and the occupant of the uninvolved vehicle had no injuries at the time of the incident, police shared.

Criminal charges will be filed when she is released from the hospital, and police are continuing to investigate the incident.
