On September 6, 2026, at 10:08 p.m., a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding down East College Avenue. The motorcycle fled the stop, knocking down the deputy and causing the passenger to fall off the back. The rider circled back after noticing the passenger had fallen and was arrested. Thomas Wright, 51, has been charged with Aggravated Battery on Law Enforcement Officer Deadly Weapon and Fleeing and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
