LA Mayor Karen Bass says any donations towards her campaign, will be matched via taxpayer funds up to 6 times its amount.

For example, if someone donated $5 to her.. the city will match it with taxpayer dollars, turning it into a $35 donation.

So, if you’re a Republican paying your taxes, it’s literally going to Karen Bass…

How the F did we end up with such stupid laws?

How the System WorksThe 6-to-1 Formula: Under city rules, when a qualified candidate receives a small donation from a local resident, the city matches it at a 6-to-1 ratio. For example, if a resident contributes $5, the city provides an additional $30 in public funds, bringing the campaign total to $35.The Legal Foundation: This program is codified in the Los Angeles City Charter. The funds are drawn from a dedicated public matching fund created by a voter-approved city charter amendment to help fund local elections.Strict Qualification RulesCandidates cannot simply take this taxpayer money; they must meet several requirements enforced by the city:Local Support: They must raise a baseline amount of money from at least 100 separate Los Angeles residents who donate $5 or more.Caps on Matching: The maximum individual donation eligible for a match is capped at $257. A $257 donation yields a maximum of $1,542 in city funds.Civic Participation: Candidates must have an active opponent and agree to participate in at least one public debate or town hall.Overall Cap: Total public matching funds are strictly capped at just over $1.5 million per candidate for the general election...

When the system runs out of your money, it brings socialism. Take from the poor and give to the poorer.

I don't know the details, but I can tell you that Democrats get busy making election fraud legal, once they have sufficient power in a jurisdiction, so they stay in power permanently.

Isn't she the dimwit awhile back that stood there like a zombie when a reporter asked her a question after fires or something? I don't follow US politics but these idiots show up numerous times.

4 +1 GulliblestartswithN 2 weeks ago

@sirmrmikey thats because she was involved in starting rhe pacific palisades fire. She was recorded telling someone just a few days before the fire's start "uhm. If u get my meaning: You need to make plans, cuz.. cuz.. something is about to happen"

Im paraphrasing but she is as crooked as (insert unmentionable entity)
