Where is all the water going? This is the bottom of the lakebed on The Blue Lakes trail in Colorado. This was once a hike past a stunning alpine lake

Now the lake bed here is completely dry. Just 2 years ago in this same spot, it was full of clear blue water and lush vegetation

“Drought in Colorado looks like this — felt a bit apocalyptic”

Severe drought from a record low 2026 snowpack is causing this. The snowpack was so bad it was among the worst on record in Colorado

Buncha dumbasses - the emptying of Upper Blue Lake is a long-standing, routine part of how this basin operates. It is a heavily managed municipal reservoir rather than a natural alpine lake and the severe drawdown has occurred like clockwork for decades.

Lakes dry up, as do seas, and oceans. Then the water shows up somewhere else. We have the same amount of water on the planet as we did 1k years ago. We don't want tons of nonwhites flooding in and hogging all the water, like they hog other White Man's resources, the parasites that they are.
