Her son had been accused by a Nigerian family living in social housing of stealing garden keys, an allegation he denies.

The officer later threatened to pepper spray the mother, who was then arrested. The boy was taken into a police van barefoot, with the officer refusing to let him retrieve his shoes and socks. The boy also claims that the officer later broke his wrist.

Even if the boy grabbed those garden keys, it might have been a stupid prank, a misdemeanor, not considered a theft by nature. DEI officer is clearly overreacting against a 13y old - in a case where there is _no_ evidence provided, beside accusations.. And he dares to push around an threaten the mother, a parent, the minor's legal guardian.. Without proof, he should have max. warned the boy, in the presence of his father/mother better not play stupid games, not saying he did it, but just in case. And his parents will take care of the rest. :D

Also should have checked for drug lab at the Nigerian's place..
