RUSKIN, Fla. —
Two Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies were flown to Tampa General Hospital after they were shot during an encounter with a suspect in Ruskin on Thursday, authorities said.

The shooting happened on West Shell Point Road. HCSO said the suspect was also shot and was transported to the hospital.

Additional updates will be provided as they become available, the sheriff's office said.

Gulf Coast News has reached out to HCSO for more information on the deputies' and suspect's conditions and what led to the incident.

Apparently the ex-boyfriend had previously tied her up with zip ties, shoved a sock in her mouth & taped it shut threatening to
kill her. She went to the sheriff's office to get a restraining order (those things are worthless).
At least the ldiot, Chris Dmuchowski is DEAD.

@Clappincheeks2knight That's a silly comment. It's two entirely different rounds with very different ballistic profiles. It's a toolbox, you put the tool to the job.

For me, for home defense, I'll take the .45 acp all day long. 9mm is prone to over penetration and will go through three or four walls before it looses lethality, and the .45, while slower has a better permanent wound channel profile and imparts more energy to the subject. If I was a beat cop, it would definitely be the 9mm, for lighter weight, lighter recoil so I can back on target quicker, and higher capacity.
