Phoenix Officers Fatally Shoot Knife-Wielding Suspect Chasing After a Man

Phoenix, Arizona — On June 26, 2026, just after 11 p.m., Phoenix Police Officers were called to the area of 35th Avenue and Greenway Road for a domestic disturbance. The 911 caller stated that at least two people in the home were in an altercation, one of whom was armed with a knife and attempting to stab the other. When officers arrived, they approached the front of the home, where they began speaking with a woman. While talking with her, the suspect ran out from the front of the house holding a knife. He began chasing another man who had been standing in the home’s driveway. This is when the officer-involved shooting occurred and the suspect was struck by gunfire. The suspect dropped the knife and fell to the ground, at which point officers took him into custody and began providing first aid. Phoenix Fire Department personnel transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
