A man is facing arson charges in Tampa after Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputies found him inside a restaurant July 7 with a flaming propane tank.
At about 8:45 a.m., deputies responded to a restaurant on West Waters Avenue after a report of an assault in progress.
When deputies arrived, they found the business filled with smoke and flames. Surveillance video from the restaurant shows a man setting a propane tank inside the business with flames coming from the valve.
A second propane tank outside the building was also on fire, deputies said.
Deputies confronted a man later identified as Rubiel Maceo Castillo, 53, inside the restaurant holding two knives. Deputies gave the man commands at gunpoint to drop the knives and surrender.
Castillo faces multiple charges, including first-degree arson of an occupied structure.
