The Panama City Police Department released dispatch audio in addition to the officer's body camera footage.
The shooting happened late Wednesday night in the 1900 block of State Ave. near the Audubon Nature Preserve Doctor's Pond Boardwalk.
In the dispatch call, the officer can be heard reporting that a vehicle was "taking off" on him.
Shortly after, the officer reports the vehicle crashed into the wood line and requests EMS.
The footage provided starts after the vehicle crashes and shows the officer get out of his patrol car. He repeatedly shouts at the suspect to "get on the ground," as the suspect runs towards him.
The suspect can be heard saying, "you're gonna have to shoot me," several times while charging towards the officer, who runs backwards with his weapon drawn, as the suspect gets closer and closer.
After the officer yells "get back" twice more, he fires his weapon at the suspect at least three times.
The suspect can be seen laying on the ground in the video.
Panama City Police has not released any details about the suspect's condition or what led up to the vehicle pursuit.
