People are not, more outraged because they "don't do the math". They aren't more outraged, because they've already know this for some time.
The US is nearly 40 TRILLION in debt. It's never going to be paid off, or even stop rising. It's unsustainable and only a matter of time before complete economic collapse.

Same in a lot of countries, here the retirement age/ aged pension age gets raised by 2 months every year, pretty soon there.ll be no pension available.. its fucked.

We were not born on this earth to work our lives away. By the time you can retire, you are too sick and tired to enjoy it anyway. And these days everyone is going to retire broke because trying to save money is now impossible. People are working their lives away chasing money they will never be able to save. Inflation takes away the value of your money anyway. If you are lucky enough to make some smart investments, you might get some money saved. I have been able to invest heavily and I am still not close to where I want to be. It's a joke. It's a game setup to make you work your life away for federal notes that decrease in value.

@JobyFluorine I wish people would all collectively wake up and refuse to continue to do it but greed is powerful and there will always be people who are willing to break away and try to chase money. We are all more powerful than the system but the system is so well setup that it makes it nearly impossible for everyone to agree to stop this madness. People are too dam selfish and no one trust each other anymore so the dream of this ever happening in my lifetime is next to zero. The only possibility is that technology brings the cost of producing goods and services down to close to zero or AI takes over so many jobs that a majority of the population can't work anymore and they are forced to change the system. Either way, I doubt we will ever see it. We will all die struggling working as long as we can and then trying to survive on our pathetic retirement accounts when social security collapses.
