Woman attempts to pull an insurance scam by changes lanes across a solid white line and slamming on her brakes.

@YOLO_ I think that it depends on the application. Solid white lines that define the edge of a bike lane you are not supposed to cross, but if it's just the shoulder then you should be okay. The solid white lines along H.O.V. lanes you can cross to enter or exit the H.O.V. lane and you should be okay. In construction zones you aren't supposed to cross solid white lines. If you are in a turn lane through an intersection you aren't supposed to cross the broken white line there.

I say "should be okay" because I've been pulled over before for crossing the solid white line to pass a cop turning left, and he stopped me. So there's some discretion as well as possible ignorance on their part, so do it at you own risk.
