" It started weird & got weirder as the day went on. This was the grand finale. Had to pull my weapon for 2nd time ever in the same place where I had 3 years ago during another violent attack. This is Justice Messiah Bottoms, a stranger to Ben & I until he walked onto the Anderson property & attacked Ben unprovoked, then didn’t flee, but calmly waited for police to arrive & when they did, he put his hands in the air & walked towards them. You can hear in the recording he taunts me to shoot him several times …I do not feel the emotion of anger easily. It takes a lot, not because I’m trying so hard not to feel it. It just doesn’t occur easily. But when it does, it is warranted. I sound & look ridiculous when I am angry, or sound ridiculous when trying to raise my voice or yell. I do not like arguing, I do not like raising my voice & I certainly don’t like people putting me in the position where I have to unholster my firearm to prevent people from committing violence towards me, or someone else. Even if you don’t pull the trigger, the psychological & mental trauma exists with the almost. This guy has a lovely history of assaults, protective order violations & other crimes that seem to be primarily violence based & when reviewing footage from when he shows up at the park at about 6:59 PM, nothing is initially alarming about him or what he does, but when you look closer, you can see issues with his body language & his behavior that are indicating that something is not right. I spent all day sending texts & emails regarding what was going on in the park & making suggestions & aside from 1 time in the morning when a patrol vehicle paused by briefly & everyone scattered, I was on the cameras all day long monitoring, documenting, reporting & communicating & this is exactly the type of thing I was trying to prevent. I saw no officers making any sort of proactive patrol or walk-throughs that would have dispersed the increasingly growing in size group of people using & dealing w/ mental health issues, not being addressed, & if you get too many people together like that, it is a recipe for disaster. The officers that arrived for the call, Myers & Black were amazing aside from a little bit of an issue upon their arrival."

@Quint_Beastwood They are a protected species. They get special dispensation because of the color of their skin, and special treatment overall, particularly in blue cities and states. If this happened in Maryland the 'boon would have called the police and she'd have been arrested for defending herself, even without firing a shot.

Be sure to use that thing next time. Because there’s definitely going to be a next time—that’s as sure as death and taxes. You don’t have to kill him right away, but given how close he got to you and the fact that he hit your partner, self-defense is justified—so just shoot him in the thigh, or take out his knee, or right in the balls—he’ll be thinking about you for a long time!

@jfk66 Center mass. An injured animal is a dangerous animal. Besides, being shot in the leg you'll bleed out in a few minutes if the bullet just grazes the femoral artery. There are vids on The YNC where people have been stabbed in the leg and they are dead in a minute.
