First, have you heard the phrase, “the Democratic Party left me”?  As an independent who has voted for Democrats in the past, I feel that today’s Democratic Party has shifted completely to the left. I vote based on policies rather than party affiliation.  Currently, the Republican Party aligns more closely with the policies and values I support, and I view them as a party of common sense. I have also noticed that Republican voters tend to be more tolerant and more willing to work with others who disagree with them.  I don’t hate Democrats, but I do see many of them as an angry and intolerant group of people.
