Little does she know that this California Highway Patrol Officer is right next to her and is keeping pace watching her keep her hands off the wheel.

They are traveling 85 mph in a 55 mph construction zone.

She does eventually put one hand back on the wheel.

He pulls her over and gives her a ticket. In California it is called a Distracted Driving ticket. The first offense is $20 and subsequent offenses are $50 but with fees and assessments they can run from $150 to $250 for repeat offenders.

I see idiots doing this everyday while going 80mph on the freeway.

In sweden the fine would be 160 dollars.

If you are at a light look around and see how many people are looking down at their phone, it's a lot

@Galaga That doesn't bother me so much, but when I see someone weaving like Amy Winehouse, fuck that. I don't think a $50 ticket fits the crime.

This chick in the vid is a kamikaze and a massive liability on the road. At the very least she should have mandatory driver improvement class, Imho.

Cali is a fuckin sham. $20 ticket?? East coast would r@pe you $300 and spit in your face at the courthouse :P

@Lemmiwinks I see people all the time weaving like they are drunk. Pull up next to them at a light and there they are, busy af on their cell phone.

@Lemmiwinks in Ontario its a 600 to 1000 dollar fine 3 demerit points plus 3 day license suspension. Thats for first offense. Insurance skyrockets. I see it multiple times a day.

The fine should be 200 to 500 dollars if they want it to stop.

2 +1 JobyFluorine 2 weeks ago

@tommix1 Mandatory driver improvement class first offense, license suspension for 30 days second offence, etc. This is worse than driving impaired, Imho.

When the driver isn't looking at the road for five that's almost six hundred feet. That's insane.

If it was up to me, all cell phones would be inoperable when in motion over 5 MPH. Only 911 could be called. You're welcome.

@tommix1 I use mine during skydiving so that simply won’t work
