On May 16, 2026, at 3 a.m., #teamHCSO’s Auto Theft Unit responded to the 700 block of Oceanside Circle in Ruskin in reference to a vehicle theft that had just occurred. With the assistance of our Aviation Unit, the stolen vehicle was observed traveling through multiple neighborhoods while the suspects attempted to burglarize parked vehicles.

Our Aviation Unit guided deputies to the suspects after they abandoned the vehicle and fled into Little Manatee River State Park. Four juveniles were arrested and are facing several charges, including Grand Theft Auto. During the investigation, detectives also recovered a discarded firearm.
