@QuartPlus8oz What are you talking about? I don’t recall any misinformation incidents from CENTCOM. Media speculation and reporting is NOT the same as "official" CENTCOM statements. Only one F15E and one A10 were shot down over Iran from Operation Fury. F15E was shot down and both the pilot and WSO were rescued. A10 pilot was able to stay airborne long enough to reach near Kuwaiti coastal area before ejecting. Two F15E were shot down from Kuwaiti over Kuwait and two pilots and two WSOs ejected over Kuwait. Two KC135s collided over Iraq in friendly airspace. One KC135 landed in Israel but the other did not make it. All of these incidents were reported correctly from CENTCOM.

@MatchboxxCar Pilot error (plane on top). You don't belly up on the lead plane when joining formation. Lead plane cannot see the other plane, and it is the responsibility of the rejoining plane to keep visual and ensure safe separation.

@MatchboxxCar I wouldn't say safe. Not yet, anyhow. Those ejection seats can cause major neck and spine injuries. They are being shot out at 20g acceleration. Still, fused vertebrae is better than being turned into pink paste.
