SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — An investigation is underway following an officer-involved shooting earlier this month is San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, authorities confirmed.

 

The FOX 5 video above shows coverage of an officer involved shooting on April 15, 2026

 

According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 5 p.m. on April 15 near the intersection of 16th Street and Island Avenue.

 

Officers with the San Diego Police Department responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, where callers said a woman was actively stabbing a man.

 

Police say when officers arrived, they gave commands for the suspect to drop the object she was holding. The woman instead advanced toward officers, prompting additional commands.

He fired seven times, got no reaction from the potential target, had no idea where the shots landed, and then used a Taser and the person fell over like a broomstick. Something’s not quite right here. Maybe the cop had blanks in his gun, or he’s an extremely poor shot.
