A suspect arrested in Gaziantep for allegedly holding a taxi driver hostage has been remanded in custody.

The suspect, S.Ç., was apprehended by police yesterday in the Karacaahmet neighborhood of the central Şehitkamil district after holding a taxi driver hostage at gunpoint.

Following a medical examination, S.Ç. was taken to court and remanded in custody.

Meanwhile, the incident was recorded by a security camera inside the vehicle.

The footage shows the suspect firing a shotgun, the taxi driver struggling to take the weapon from the suspect, and the suspect being apprehended by police.

Yesterday, in the Karacaahmet neighborhood of the central Şehitkamil district, suspect S.Ç., who held the taxi driver RY hostage at gunpoint, was apprehended after police fired warning shots.
