If that idiot Trump expects NATO countries to support him in matters outside the alliance's remit, he simply needs to ask them and find some willing to participate. The war with Iran has absolutely nothing to do with NATO's tasks.

One could argue that Trump has abandoned NATO allies by almost completely withdrawing support for the far more important war on the doorstep of some allies in Ukraine. And not only that, he's even siding more with Russia. Yet another strategic blunder by an incompetent orange clown.

However, there are a few facts worth mentioning.

The first thing Hegseth told the Europeans was that they are on their own because the US is shifting its focus to the Indo-Pacific. Since Trump took office, there has been discussion in Europe about whether the US would even be a reliable partner in a crisis. The Europeans are significantly increasing their military spending and want to achieve independence from the US. They are even discussing their own European nuclear deterrent.

And there's something else. The strongest land army in Europe is that of Ukraine. No active-duty American soldier has ever experienced such an intense war as the one in Ukraine. Iraq and Afghanistan were child's play compared to a major land war against the full strength of the Russian army. When it comes to modern warfare, everyone is now learning from Ukraine.

And finally, the US will never give up its presence in Europe. That would be a terrible strategic error, and not even Trump is that stupid. As soon as a proper president is back in office, instead of this incompetent orange amateur and his cabinet of bunglers and idiots, the US will improve relations with all its allies and restore lost trust.
