4/19/26 – In Starr Co., a Trooper stopped a Chevy pickup for a traffic violation. During the stop, it was discovered the driver was smuggling five illegal immigrants.

The driver was arrested and charged federally by the U.S. Border Patrol. The five illegal immigrants were taken into Border Patrol custody.

In the video, several of the illegal immigrants are seen wearing colored wristbands—commonly used by cartels to indicate payment and coordination for illegal crossings.

This arrest highlights the continued partnership between DPS and the U.S. Border Patrol in targeting human smuggling operations and pursuing stronger consequences for those who exploit others for profit.
