These are the remains of two MC-130 aircraft that got bogged on the makeshift runway. Our own forces blew them up so Iran wouldn't get any of our technology. I love that USA won't leave a fellow soldier in the field, even if it costs a couple of expensive aircraft. I'll bet our special forces had fun rigging the charges and blowing these things up. They did a great job! I can't wait to read the book some day.

@watchful Just to the left of this MC130 wreckage is MH6 helicopter. This video doesn't show the full span. MH6 Little Bird is small enough to fit inside the cargo bay of an MC130 with its blades folded. They can be quickly deployed from MC130 and are used by the Navy SEAL Team 6 to extract the downed WSO. MH6 is fast and extremely maneuverable. Once the WSO was picked up, MH6 flew back to MC130 landing site and the helicopter was discarded since it is effectively expendable to maximize speed and minimize risk. Since MC130 was immobilized, backup flew in and extracted the special ops and WSO.

Leave NO American warfighter behind! No other country will go to this length to rescue US service member. This is a photo of MC130 and MH6 Little Bird. MC130 was used to transport special ops for extraction and was immobilized and destroyed by US forces themselves to prevent capture. MH6 Little Bird was also left behind by the Navy SEAL Team 6 and was destroyed due to the limited range, and this was expected for the mission.
