New video shows officer-involved shooting at Marana hotel

MARANA, Ariz.. - The Pima Regional Critical Incident Team released new footage of an officer-involved shooting that happened at a Marana hotel in January.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant on two suspects, 41-year-old Justin Stone and 48-year-old Terease Sturges, on Jan. 11. Both were wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

The suspects were believed to be staying at a Marana hotel near Cortaro Farms and Interstate 10. Both of them ran from police on foot through the hotel and eventually made it to the lobby.

Stone then pointed two handguns towards hotel staff and a deputy. That's when he was shot by police.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman he was with was also arrested.

The investigation is still ongoing.
