US Marine expeditionary strike groups are positioned to secure Kharg Island and to assist in reopening the strategic waterway around the Strait of Hormuz. It's also possible that there could be a special operation to secure 460 kg of 60% enriched uranium. That is enough for ~11 nuclear weapons if further enriched to 90%. I don't see US soldiers on Iranian ground for anything else as that will just put US soldiers in harm's way.
