18-year-old accused of randomly stabbing a 69-year-old woman to death in her bed because he “wanted to kill someone for a long time”

Anthony DeMayo was ordered held without bail after police say he confessed to the random murder of Janet Swallow, 69, in Danvers, Massachusetts

He was sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for a 20-day psychiatric evaluation after a psychologist told the court she is “concerned about his rational understanding.”

Court documents say DeMayo told investigators he had “planned on committing this act for a long time” and “wanted to kill someone for a long time.”

DeMayo was charged with murder and home invasion
