I would like to expand a little of that.
His "True Jews" being the followers of Jesus as the Christ is 1,000 % correct.

The first Christians were almost all Jews, starting with the Apostles.

The 'true' Jewish continuation of the Jewish faith is Christianity.

All Jews were supposed to abandon the Mosaic Law set forth by the Mosaic Covenant, and completely follow a New Covenant set forth by God incarnate himself.
There was not supposed to be a name change that differentiated Jew and Christian. ALL Jews were to continue being Jewish but to declare their Laws fulfilled, abandon the Law regarding salvation, and teach a new age of grace instead.

But they refused their new pathway, and so, Christianity became, not just a different sect of Judaism, but a whole separate religion.

It was not supposed to be something different. It was to be the new Judaism.

As a side note.. The name 'Christian' was given to those who followed Jesus the Christ, when Apostle Paul stood before King Agrippa, and it was Agrippa that named the followers of Jesus Christ, 'Christians'.

In Jesus's time, the Romans did not give a shit what a citizen or provincial subject's religion was and did not involve themselves in it. All they cared about was they paid their taxes and not be seditious. Jesus convinced Pilate he had no problem using Roman coins with Caesar's image and paying his taxes with it, all while living under Roman dominion. Pilate had to give in to the influential pharisees who wanted to kill Jesus as a heretic, but frame it as a Roman crime of sedition.

It was these pharisees that ultimately led the uprising that caused Vespasian and his son Titus to tear down the Second Temple brick by brick, stone by stone.
