Richardson, TX - Recently, one of our officers narrowly avoided serious injury when a suspected intoxicated driver crashed into the officer’s vehicle while it was stopped on the highway.
Thankfully, both the officer and the motorist the officer was speaking with were able to walk away without injuries.
This is a powerful reminder of how dangerous impaired driving can be. One decision can change lives in an instant.

1 in 10 drivers on the road are drunk at any time. It rises to 4 in 10 on Friday and Saturday nights.

@L.X 1 in 10 drivers in US? No way that's true. NHTSA stats is only 1-2%. Even that seems high.

Police vehicle stopped on the right lane instead of the shoulder on a 3-lane highway seems risky as well.
