Chino police shoot, injure knife-wielding suspect after domestic violence call in the Preserve

Chino police shot and wounded a 29-year-old domestic violence suspect Sunday night at an apartment complex in The Preserve in Chino, reporting the man lunged at officers with a knife before he was shot.

 

The suspect, identified as Royce Johnson of Chino, was taken to an undisclosed hospital in stable condition, Sgt. Shauna Hill said. No other injuries were reported.

 

Officers were called around 9 p.m. to the Homecoming at the Preserve apartment complex at 16250 Homecoming Drive after a witness reported hearing a woman screaming inside a unit, Sgt. Hill said.
