Mother of 3-year-old girl killed in Florida arrested on child neglect charges

OCALA, Fla. - The mother of a 3-year-old girl killed in Marion County last month has been arrested, and new body camera video of that arrest has been sent to TV20.

Jennifer Kendrick, 26, is charged with two counts of felony child neglect in connection with the death of her daughter, Paisley Brown. Kendrick is being held in the Marion County Jail on no bond.

Marion County deputies said Kendrick initially denied knowing her daughter was being abused. When confronted with evidence, deputies said she admitted she was aware her boyfriend had previously bound and abused Paisley. Deputies said Kendrick acknowledged she failed to protect her daughter.

Deputies also said Kendrick was on felony probation at the time of her arrest, which has been violated.

Kendrick’s boyfriend, Jeroen Coombs, was arrested last month and was initially charged with aggravated child abuse. He is now also charged with second-degree murder. Deputies said Coombs admitted to binding the girl’s hands and legs and dropping her.

Coombs is also being held in the Marion County Jail on no bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on March 24.

An autopsy report on Paisley’s death has not been released.

I looked up this girl on google images, such a sweet little dear, blonde, typical child and I just can't understand how someone would kill a helpless youngling like that, even more disappointing that she's white (mother)
