Sleeping man set ablaze near New York City's Penn Station

A homeless man was set on fire while sleeping on the floor inside Penn Station in Manhattan on Monday night, according to police and sources.

The 37-year-old man was attacked while sleeping by the Amtrak rotunda inside the Midtown transportation hub on West 31st Street at around 8:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the flames, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening burns.

It was unclear what sparked the attack.

Police said they are looking for three male suspects. One was wearing a black jacket and jeans, and the second a brown jacket and grey pants. The third suspect had a backpack.

All three fled on foot. There have been no arrests.

@MJK420 That's not fair, a good number of undeserving homeless sleeping on street have been targeted by arson before, don't know the individual story with these two, might be a hefty outstanding drug debt but you shouldn't presume that's an acceptable policy
