I worked rotating 12 hours shifts for years, we worked three or four days, then three or four nights and on and on. You never knew if you were coming or going. Sometimes we got held over or had to go in early to work 18 hours. Nights were always the easiest for me.

No sympathy. First, 12 hour shift is nothing. Second, most full-time hospital nurses work 3 days per week so they have 4 days off.
