Yard workers have been reporting more and more the sounds of screaming children coming from shipping containers.

In many cases they try to investigate or open the doors, and are told by superiors that they have to stand down or risk being fired.

1.2 million children are trafficked each year globally. Nearly 20,000 child victims were identified worldwide in 2020 alone, though the true figure is likely much higher. Children make up approximately 27-28% of all detected human trafficking victims overall.

Content creator Matt Wallace shared the 13-second clip on February 18, claiming yard workers hear children screaming inside shipping containers but are told to stand down or lose their jobs. Similar rumors circulated during a 2024 port strike and other events but were debunked, while experts stress reporting tips to verified hotlines like DHS's 1-888-373-7888.
