Bodybuilder Ranieri Lopes Filho , 31, ruptured his quadriceps tendon during a weight training session on January 22nd, while performing a leg press with a 400-kilogram weight at a gym in Teresina , Piauí. The accident was recorded on video by the athlete himself. g1 spoke to an orthopedist who warned of the risks of injury not only for athletes: 'the equipment can be treacherous'.

Sorry but his poor form did him in. He had his feet WAY too low for a press that heavy. His feet should have been wide and top of the pad. That low foot position puts way too much sheer force on the knee and is totally unsafe. No I did not stay in a motel 6blast night, and yes, I am an expert in kinesiology, competitive bodybuilding, and powerlifting
