HCSO arrested Gamal Said, 28, for impersonating a law enforcement officer by using red and blue emergency-style lights on his vehicle.
On January 7, 2026, deputies were alerted by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office about a suspicious black Chevy Equinox entering Hillsborough County. The lights caused another driver to believe they were being lawfully stopped and pull over.
“Falsely presenting as law enforcement is a serious offense that jeopardizes public safety,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Anyone who abuses that trust will be held accountable, and we encourage drivers to call 911 if they are ever unsure about a traffic stop.”

I was pulled over by a fake cop some years back.
Didn't take me long to realize he was some cartel connected gang member.
I beat him to within an inch of his life on the side of the road and left him for dead.
What's he going to do... call the cops while he is committing a felony and already has several warrants for his arrest!

Impersonating an officer should be a 5 year minimum federal offense. The cops are hard enough to trust as it is.
