Woman Swept Away by Powerful Currents at Indonesia’s Robo Waterfall

The search for a tourist reported missing and drowned in the Robo Waterfall tourist area in Harau Village, Harau District, Limapuluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra, ended in tragedy. The victim was found deceased on Friday morning (October 16, 2026).

Head of the Padang Class A Search and Rescue (SAR) Office, Abdul Malik, confirmed the discovery of the body of the victim named Windy Rahma Putri (25), a resident of Padang Pariaman.

"The victim was found by the Joint SAR Team at 10.45 WIB in a state of death (MD) not far from the location where the victim was initially reported to have slipped," said Abdul Malik in his official statement, Friday (16/10/2026).

He explained that the tragic incident began on Thursday (October 15, 2026) at around 3:45 PM WIB. At the time, the victim was enjoying the natural scenery while bathing in the Robo Waterfall area in Harau Village. However, the victim suddenly slipped and fell into the waterfall, where he is presumed to have drowned and been swept away by the current.
